Mama Chicken represents all the mamas who care for their children and the ones who work hard, hold the family together, and stand strong as the backbone of the whare. Mama Chicken is fluffy, big, huggable, and kind just like my mama. My mama has supported and loved me my whole life. Living with a mental disability has been challenging for me and for my whānau, but my mama never gave up on me. She has shown me that the world can be hard, cold, and dark at times, but she has also shown me hope. She reminds me that there are great things ahead for my life and my future.
